Amish auction day to help local community members

CHERRY CREEK – Amish residents from the areas around Buffalo will hold a fundraising event later this month to raise money for Amish families who need assistance.

The 12th annual “Amish Relief Auction” will begin at 9:30 a.m. May 23 at the Empire Livestock Cherry Creek Market, at 6732 Pickup Hill Road in the town of Cherry Creek.

Money raised will help pay for medical costs and other needs of local Amish families.

The auction will include items such as quilts and rugs, crafts and household furnishings like clocks, tables and rocking chairs.

Food available at the benefit will include a pig roast, chicken, burgers, ice cream and baked treats.

There is no admission charge for the event, which will go on even in case of rain.
