The Allen Medical Campus Station on the Metro Rail is scheduled to reopen to full service on Monday, the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority announced Thursday.
Construction of the University at Buffalo’s new School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences atop the station has reached the point where the station can safely be reopened to service, the NFTA reported.
It had been closed since April 20.
However, the station will have be to be closed temporarily again sometime in mid-June for 17 days for more work.
During the periods when the station is closed, Metro will continue to provide free, daily shuttle service to and from the Summer Best Station for customers to access areas adjacent to the Allen Medical Campus Station, the NFTA said.
Shuttle intervals are scheduled to coincide with the daily rail schedule. Passengers need to exit the train at the Summer Best Station to access the shuttle service.
The train will service all other stations during the closure period.
