Native Americans activists to speak

Two prominent Native American activists will speak this month at Burning Books, 420 Connecticut St.

Dennis Banks, co-founder of the American Indian Movement best known for leading a 71-day armed takeover and occupation of Wounded Knee in South Dakota to protest living conditions, will speak at 7 p.m. on May 19.

Madonna Thunder Hawk, an AIM member and Lakota community organizer, will speak at 7 p.m. on May 28. Both talks are free, with donations suggested.
