A misunderstanding between a neighbor, a handyman and the area’s top State Supreme Court justice lead to Buffalo police issuing a ticket for littering.
State Supreme Court Justice Vincent Doyle’s name was cleared — but not until a long story was unwound in court.
"The city today dropped littering charges against one of the area's top judges, who was accused of illegally dumping debris at a city location despite its designation as a drop-off site. The judge was not the person who dropped the debris at the site, officials said.
"At the request of Assistant Corporation Counsel David J. State, the case against State Supreme Court Justice Vincent E. Doyle Jr., the administrative judge of all state courts in the eight-county Western New York area, was dropped."
