NIAGARA FALLS – The Hamister Group is seeking bids from potential subcontractors for the planned $35.7 million Hyatt Place Hotel, and Hamister applied Wednesday for city building permits, representatives of the developer told the city Planning Board on Wednesday night.
The company expects to receive bids from subcontractors in four weeks and then will take two more weeks to review them, said Josh Klotzbach, vice president of construction.
The 128-room, six-story hotel, to be located at Rainbow Boulevard and Old Falls Street, will also include retail space along Old Falls.
The Planning Board on Wednesday recommended that the City Council grant right-of-way encroachments for two signs for the hotel – one on Rainbow Boulevard and another on O’Laughlin Drive. The board also recommended the developer be allowed to raise a stretch of sidewalk along Old Falls Street and to install stairs and ramps to remedy an approximately 30-inch variation in ground level on the property.
