Harmonia celebrates innovation of the past and the present

The Harmonia Chamber Singers are celebrating innovative composers of the past and present. “Echoes of the Present” takes as its centerpiece a piece by Harmonia’s composer in residence, Rob Deemer, called “Dear and Loving Husband.” Others whose works fill out the concert include Renaissance composers Carlo Gesualdo and William Byrd, as well as latter-day choral masters such as Eric Whitacre and Stephen Chatman.

There are two performances: 7 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph University Church (3269 Main St.) and 7 p.m. Sunday at the Buffalo Religious Arts Center (157 East St.).

Admission is by free-will offering.
