Deceased 15-year-old’s solicitor headed for prison

LOCKPORT – Jessica Carli, who acted as a solicitor for a 15-year-old girl who died of a drug overdose Jan. 21, on the day of Carli’s arraignment, accepted a plea deal Wednesday that will send her to prison for up to 10 years.

Carli, 28, of 80th Street in the Falls, pleaded guilty to second-degree promoting prostitution and third-degree criminal sexual act, and Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon said she will impose consecutive sentences totaling 10 years, plus 10 years of post-release supervision, when Carli returns to court July 8.

Carli, who said she was diagnosed in September 2012 as bipolar, was charged with recruiting the girl to work as a prostitute in Carli’s home between Aug. 12 and Oct. 14, advertising the girl’s services online with naked photos the girl supplied at Carli’s request.

Carli also had sexual contact with the girl herself in October.
