Bliss man still jailed nearly a week after high speed chase

WARSAW – A 30-year-old Bliss man remained in custody at the Wyoming County Jail here Wednesday, nearly a week after a high-speed police chase that started in the Village of Warsaw and ended when he crashed into a Perry Police Department vehicle in Perry.

Donald Krohn is charged with unlawfully fleeing police in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, speeding, failure to comply with a police officer and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Wyoming County sheriff’s deputies were sent to look for Krohn in Warsaw last Thursday but when he spotted them he drove off with deputies in pursuit. He ran through a stop sign on Butternut Street and sped to Silver Springs. Since he was still speeding into Silver Springs deputies terminated their pursuit in the name of public safety and Krohn drove off into Perry where he was arrested after crashing into a police vehicle.

Krohn faces further proceedings in Warsaw Village Court. He failed to post court-ordered $2,000 bail, county jail officials said Wednesday.
