NIAGARA FALLS – Robert F. Bilson, operations supervisor for American Coradius International, a risk management company and collection agency in Buffalo, announced his candidacy Wednesday for Niagara County legislator in the 3rd District, which covers LaSalle.
“I’m looking forward to serving the community I grew up in,” said Bilson, 37, a registered Democrat who intends to challenge first-term Legislator Mark J. Grozio, a Democrat. Bilson said he also intends to seek the Republican endorsement, which would give him two shots against Grozio, in the Democratic primary and in the general election if Grozio wins the primary.
“In my career, I review and analyze data, resolve complex issues, identify issues and opportunities, and cultivate relationships with individuals across multiple industries every single day,” said Bilson. “I believe in working collaboratively to achieve goals. Unfortunately, things have become so divisive in the County Legislature that Niagara Falls continuously gets short-changed. I will work with each of my colleagues, regardless of party affiliation, in a cooperative manner for the betterment of our city.”
Bilson, a first-time political candidate, is the father of five whose wife teaches at LaSalle Preparatory School.
