Funeral services for Army 1st Lt. John J. Levulis, 25, who died Thursday from injuries suffered in an accident in New Jersey, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the auditorium of Eden Junior-Senior High School, 3150 Schoolview Road, Eden.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday in John J. Kaczor Funeral Home, 5453 Southwestern Blvd., Hamburg.
Capt. Levulis was one of four soldiers injured May 1 when their Humvee, part of a convoy en route to Fort Dix, N.J., was hit by a car and forced off the road and into a tree.
A 2008 graduate of Eden High School, where he played basketball and lacrosse, he was a summa cum laude graduate of Niagara University, where he took part in the ROTC program.
He served a tour of duty in Afghanistan in 2014 and was an infantry platoon leader with the 10th Mountain Division, stationed at Fort Drum.
Survivors include his wife, Julianne Viviano; his parents, Gary and Barbara; a brother, James T.; and his grandmothers, Shirley Ranney and Dorothy.
