Man assaulted in Falls robbery

NIAGARA FALLS – Police interviewed a man in the hospital who was having a cut under his left eye stitched closed and was about to undergo a CT scan, as a result of an attempted robbery Sunday on 17th Street.

The Niagara Falls man told police he was walking past a market on Pierce Avenue at 2 a.m. and as he turned onto 17th Street, a man in his 20s approached him and said, “Give me what you got.”

The victim said when he told the man he was broke he was punched in his left eye and beaten by the suspect. The victim said he went home, but sought treatment later on Sunday because of pain in the head and eye.
