City of Tonawanda
A kickoff meeting on the update to the city’s waterfront plan will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in City Hall, 200 Niagara Street.
Residents will have a chance to learn about the process, meet the consultants and share their preliminary thoughts on the update.
The Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan is a community-driven document that provides guidance on future policies, projects and actions specifically related to the waterfront. The original plan was developed in 1986 and updated in 1991.
The waterfront includes the Niagara River, Two Mile Creek, Erie Canal and Ellicott Creek. Funding for the update was provided by a grant from the state department of state under the Environmental Protection Fund.
A page has been set up at facebook.com/LivingNiawanda for outreach and to help gather input.
• The Tonawanda School Board will conduct a regular meeting and budget hearing at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the high school library.
