Landlord reports intentional water damage in Bird Avenue home

The landlord of a Bird Avenue home told Buffalo police on Sunday that someone intentionally left the water running in the home and clogged the drains, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

Water caused an estimated $2,000 in damage to the floors of the home in the 200 block of Bird, and also damaged a basement water heater valued at $5,000, according to a report.

The suspects also took two refrigerators, each valued at more than $500, police said. The landlord told police that former tenants who were recently evicted still had keys to the home.
