Front page April 10, 1915: Bishop dies unexpectedly, shocking Buffalo

"Bishop Colton dies peacefully shortly after sudden attack"

"The Rt. Rev. Charles Henry Colton, Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Buffalo, died last evening at 9:45 o'clock at the episcopal residence, 1035 Delaware avenue.

"Stricken early yesterday morning with what was assumed to be a slight attack of indigestion, Bishop Colton was compelled to abandon his planned work for yesterday and to seek rest. It was not until last evening at 8 o'clock, when a consultation of physicians was held, that the serious condition of the venerable prelate was apparent."
