Buffalo motorcyclist killed on Genesee Street

A motorcyclist was killed early Sunday morning at Genesee Street and Marshall Streets, police reported,

The motorcycle was traveling east on Genesee, possibly at a high rate of speed, about 1:15 a.m. when the driver lost control, jumped a curb and struck a pole. The 47-year-old male driver of Buffalo was thrown from his bike and was declared dead at the scene, according to Thomas Leatherbarrow, commander of the accident investigation unit.

A stretch of Genesee Street was closed for over 4 hours before being reopened at approximately 5:30 a.m.
