Tops Friendly Markets will reveal the latest list of items to have prices frozen through its Price Lock Guarantee on Sunday.
The Williamsville-based company will honor everyday low pricing on those items from May 10 through July 18. The list will include summer-themed items such as Ball Park meat franks, Ball Park flame-grilled fully cooked burgers, sweet corn, Heinz ketchup and Dinosaur Bar-B-Que sauce. It will also have everyday items shoppers purchase regularly, such as toilet paper, paper towels, Irish Spring bar soap, Clorox bleach, Skippy peanut butter, Pasta Roni sides, Chiquita bananas and Bumble Bee tuna. There are 410 price locked items in all. The full list will be available at TopsMarkets.com.
Tops initiated the seasonally changing Price Lock in 2013. It was one of the first big strategy changes the grocer implemented after Tops executives including CEO Frank Curci bought the company. It allows Tops to employ certain aspects of a consistent low pricing strategy on products shoppers buy most, while maintaining a general “high-low” strategy that focuses on promotional discounts.
