LOCKPORT – A sex offender who is recovering from bladder cancer surgery was placed on 10 years’ probation Friday by Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon.
Gary Greenman, 67, of Forest Avenue, Niagara Falls, had admitted to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child for molesting an 11-year-old girl between March 2013 and May 2014. Sheldon also rated Greenman a Level 1 sex offender, the least dangerous classification.
In another sex case, Stephen M. Niver, 24, of Memorial Parkway, Niagara Falls, was sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. to three years in prison and 10 years of post-release supervision for violating his probation on a child pornography charge. Niver downloaded porn from the Internet last year on his PlayStation unit.
In another child porn case, Sheldon granted 10 years’ probation to Donald J. Schwartz, 34, of Maple Street, City of Tonawanda. Schwartz last year emailed a nude photo of a girl under age 10 to himself from the computer of a Town of Niagara teenager who is currently on interim probation, trying to earn youthful offender status in another child porn case.
