May 7, 1940: First Ward bids Ohio Basin farewell

In the shadow of recent improvements to Ohio Street, Father Conway Park is an area of trees and grass with a view of the Buffalo River and the remnants of Buffalo’s industry.

"1st Ward says goodbye to Ohio Basin"

" 'We have succeeded in getting done now what some day may be regarded as the initial step in a project which will rehabilitate the waterfront in Buffalo.' "
