Burglary of gun and other hunting items reported in Niagara Falls

NIAGARA FALLS – A Niagara Falls man said an $1,100 shotgun was among items stolen in a burglary overnight Monday on Packard Court.

The victim said the crime occurred between 10 p.m. Monday and 3:28 a.m. Tuesday. The shotgun was a Remington 1911 12-gauge with attached scope. Other items stolen included a hunting bow with case and custom leather sling, a wallet with $500 in cash. and a tool box with tools. The loss was listed at more than $2,000.

Police said a screen cut, and entry was probably through an unlocked window. The victim, who was home at the time, was sleeping and on medication, police said.
