Monica Stevens, longtime Federal Reserve senior auditor

June 16, 1926 – April 17, 2015

Monica B. Stevens of East Aurora, a retired Federal Reserve Bank senior auditor, died April 17 at Fox Run of Orchard Park after a long illness. She was 88.

Born in Buffalo, the former Monica B. Boyle graduated from Girls Vocational High School in 1943. Upon completion of high school, she worked for Capitol Records in Buffalo as a receptionist.

A retired senior auditor for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Buffalo Branch, Mrs. Stevens held the position from June 1966 to September 1988.

She was a master gardener for New York State Cooperative Extension at Cornell University, former treasurer for the Aurora Neighborhood, choir member Our Lady of Victory Basilica, and a lifelong Girl Scout member, where she was awarded the Green Angel Award.

She was one of the first recipients of a cochlear implant hearing aid in Western New York.

Her husband of 49 years, Raymond E. Stevens, died in 1995.

Survivors include a son, Wayne; a daughter, Janet Schack; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. May 16 in Our Lady of Victory Basilica, 767 Ridge Road, Lackawanna.
