Man dies in West Seneca crash; both drivers charged with DWI

One man died Saturday morning in West Seneca when two drunk drivers collided in a horrific crash on Clinton Street, police said.

David Roller, 29, of Depew was a passenger in his own pickup truck as it was being driven west by Ashley Alexander of Buffalo at around 4:20 a.m.

The truck collided with an oncoming auto, driven by Daniel Demont, 27, of Buffalo, that swerved over the center line near 3121 Clinton, between Inter Drive and Old French Road, police said.

Roller was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from his truck. He died at the scene.

“In my opinion, he would have had a much better chance had he been seat-belted,” Capt. Edward Baker said.

Both drivers were injured and were still being treated Saturday afternoon at Erie County Medical Center.

Both Alexander and Demont have been charged with driving while intoxicated, Baker said.

Demont also was charged with failure to keep right.
