Everyone knows it gets busy at Wegmans.
The McKinley Parkway store in Hamburg will be easing the parking crunch that comes on weekends and holidays by adding 80 more parking spaces.
The new area will be constructed on adjacent property owned by Niagara Mohawk. The store also wants to enlarge the existing patio seating area on the east side of the building. The additional 260 square feet will add 15 to 20 seats to the patio area, according to the Planning Board.
The Planning Board approved the project, providing a speed hump between the entrance of the new parking lot and the TJ Maxx parking lot is added.
Construction is to start in early June, said Michele Mehaffy, Wegmans consumer affairs manager.
