Applications for 2016 cultural funding through Erie County are now available online.
Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz said the applications, which must be completed by eligible organizations seeking any level of county funding, will streamline the process by which groups can apply for funding and also provide them step-by-step guidance in organizing and submitting their information.
“This cultural funding application process is an efficient and thorough way for interested organizations to submit their information in a comprehensive and timely manner,” said Poloncarz.
The application form includes a checklist for applicants to follow while completing their entries, with clearly delineated spaces for various types of information such as an organization’s budget size and other eligibility criteria.
The Erie Arts & Cultural Advisory Board reviews applications and makes its recommendations for funding to the county executive.
Qualified groups are required to complete an online application at www.erie.gov/CulturalFunding and submit it by 5 p.m. June 10. Late or incomplete applications will negatively affect an organizations’ application score.
The Department of Environment and Planning will provide an overview of the application process at 4 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium of the Buffalo History Museum, Elmwood Avenue and Nottingham Terrace.
