The Erie County Industrial Development Agency is providing $200,000 to Launch NY to pay for programs and services meant to boost startup companies in Erie County.
The money will support outreach efforts aimed at entrepreneurs, potential investors and service providers and offer company founders access to coaching, mentoring and other aid.
Launch NY was founded in 2012 to encourage startup activity throughout Upstate New York. Since then, the nonprofit organization says it has helped more than 200 companies in 27 counties in Western and Central New York. The 43North business-plan competition is one of the programs it is affiliated with.
The ECIDA previously contributed $60,000 as an original backer of Launch NY, said Marnie LaVigne, the nonprofit’s president and CEO.
