‘CardioCraze’ walk to benefit Mount St. Mary’s Hospital

LEWISTON – Mount St. Mary’s Hospital will conduct its fifth annual CardioCraze from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Academy Park.

The free wellness walk, which is open to the public, is a fundraiser for the hospital’s cardiology department.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the walk starts at 9 a.m. Walkers will proceed south from Academy Park through Artpark, head down South Second Street to Center Street and return to the park, covering nearly two miles. Participants with $20 or more in donations receive a T-shirt.

“We have designed this as a family event that will place a focus on heart healthy events and information,” said Judith A. Maness, the hospital’s president and chief executive officer.

Tim Hortons will provide morning refreshments and there will be an inflatable maze for children.

Maness and Tim Hortons are sponsors along with Frontier Industrial Corp., Phillips Lytle, Medtronic, HEALTHeLINK, Boston Scientific and Modern Corp., with cooperation from the Village of Lewiston and Artpark.

For information, call the hospital at 298-2146.
