A 14-year-old Buffalo boy convicted of juvenile crimes was quickly captured after he ran out of Women and Children’s Hospital on Bryant Street where he had been taken for treatment late Tuesday.

The boy who had been sentenced in Erie County Family Court recently to a term at the state’s Finger Lakes Residential Center for juvenile delinquents near Ithaca was still wearing handcuffs and a leg shackle when captured about a block from the hospital about 10 p.m. Buffalo police charged him with a felony count of second-degree escape and a petit larceny count for allegedly stealing some hospital property.
