FREWSBURG – The 18-year-old driver of an ATV was arrested Tuesday in Frewsburg after police said he narrowly missed striking two pedestrians who were walking Monday night on Frew Run Road, according to state police in Jamestown.
Coty W. Schauers of Frewsburg, was driving at a high rate of speed around 7 p.m. Monday when he evaded police after he turned off the road onto a trail, according to reports.
After further investigation, police on Tuesday arrested Schauers and charged him with reckless endangerment and unlawfully fleeing from a police officer in a motor vehicle.
Schauers also faces numerous vehicle and traffic violations including speeding and unlawfully operating an ATV on a highway.
Schauers was arraigned in the Town of Carroll Court and his driver’s license was revoked.
A second appearance date for Carroll Court had not been set.
