LOCKPORT – The Niagara County Health Department has announced that it will offer free diabetes-related courses, starting in September in Lockport, Pendleton and Niagara Falls.
Six-week classes to help those with diabetes to manage the disease are to begin Sept. 11 in Lockport Emanuel United Methodist Church, 75 East Ave., and Sept. 12 in Pendleton Town Hall, 6570 Campbell Blvd. The classes will be held weekly, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in Lockport and from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in Pendleton.
In Niagara Falls, a course on preventing diabetes begins Sept. 16 in the Trott Access Center, 1001 11th St. Sixteen weekly one-hour sessions, starting at 9:30 a.m., will be followed by monthly maintenance sessions for six months, to protect participants’ changes to a more healthy lifestyle.
