Non-lethal means not possible in some instances

In response to recent contributions from writers who want to know why police can’t use non-lethal means upon confrontations, what the public still forgets is that as police officers we are trained to shoot center of a body. Not in the leg or arm like most people have asked me over my 20 years on the job.

I feel bad for Lady, the dog shot in the Town of Concord by deputies, but most dogs see that dark uniform and don’t know if we’re there to help or not.

Don’t forget that the officers were looking for a possible armed suspect.
