Aggravated DWI charges lodged against drivers in separate arrests

Two drivers were charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated in separate arrests overnight Friday.

Leroy Gates, 51, of Route 439, Gowanda, also was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation following a traffic stop on Taylor Hollow Road in Gowanda about 11:30 p.m. Friday, after his vehicle had crossed the center line, police said. Gates posted a .19 percent blood-alcohol level, police said, and his driver’s license had been revoked for a DWI conviction in 2005.

In the other case, a vehicle driven by Sara Pulci, 22, of Fredonia, was pulled over about 3:45 a.m. Saturday at Routes 5 and 20 in Hanover, police said. Her blood-alcohol content was .21 percent, police said.
