Zimmerman named North Tonawanda Community Development director

NORTH TONAWANDA – The City of North Tonawanda has named Michael Zimmerman as its Community Development director, replacing Richard L. Tindell, who recently retired.

Zimmerman, planning and development coordinator for Lumber City Development Corp. since 2011, had been filling both roles for the past three months following Tindell’s retirement. He also will remain executive director of the Lumber City agency.

Zimmerman, who has a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from SUNY at Buffalo, was directly involved in obtaining $2.8 million in grants for North Tonawanda, and funding for the renovation of Gratwick Park Marina.
