BATAVIA – Two trustees who headed the board at Genesee Community College will be honored by the state Community College Trustees Association for dedication, leadership and service.

Maureen Torrey Marshall of Elba, who recently completed a two-year term as chairwoman, will receive the Marvin A. Rapp Award for distinguished service.

She is the owner of Torrey Farms, a 10,000-acre operation. She also is active in farm groups on the state and national level.

Diane D. Torcello of Pavilion is the current chairwoman of the GCC board. She is a vice president of Tompkins Bank of Castile, and was named to the Buffalo Business 40 Under 40.

She will receive the Donald M. Whiney Trustee Leadership Award. Both will be honored at the Sept. 20 conference of the trustees association.
