One man arrested in robbery of West Ferry store

One man was arrested after police said he and two others roughed up a clerk during a robbery Monday night at a boutique on West Ferry Avenue.

The robbery was reported at 7:10 p.m. when the three men entered Urban Touch, 284 W. Ferry, and threatened the clerk before taking merchandise from the phone case, police reported.

A scuffle ensued, and the clerk’s personal cell phone was also taken, police said.

Police who arrived at the scene and traced the cell phone to a Grant Street address. They arrested Ahmed Kady, 25, after he was identified by the clerk as the person who robbed him. Police recovered several articles taken during the robbery. They were valued at $1,850.

Kady was charged with robbery. The two other thieves remain at large.

The clerk suffered bruises to his face.
