A Niagara Falls man who was driving drunk with two children in his car in Grand Island was charged with child endangerment Friday night, Erie County Sheriff’s deputies reported.

James W. Denney, 43, whose license was previously revoked, was also charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation after he was stopped on Grand Island Boulevard for driving without headlights, deputies said.

Two children, ages 10 and 11, were in the car, and a chemical test showed Denney’s blood-alcohol content was .11 percent, deputies said.

A passenger, Leslie A. Knight, 46, also was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of marijuana, authorities said.
