Three homeless after fire on Townsend

Three adults were left homeless early today when their Townsend Street home caught fire, authorities said.

The blaze at 67 Townsend started at about 2:40 a.m. on the first floor of the two-story structure and spread to the attic before firefighters could bring it under control. No injuries were reported.

Damage was estimated at $30,000 to the building and $15,000 to the contents. A cause for the blaze is under investigation.
