State police seize 114 marijuana plants in Allegany County

State Police this week seized 114 marijuana plants growing in three Allegany County communities and arrested to residents.

Assisted by State Police Aviation, and State Forest Rangers, troopers began the marijuana eradication at several locations.

Marijuana was located in the Town of Alfred, Village of Wellsville, Town of Wellsville, and the Town of Willing.

Stephen T. Rainelli, 25, of Alfred, and Desmond B. McDowell, 51, of Wellsville, were charged with violating Public Health Law, by unlawfully growing cannabis.

The Southern Regional Drug Task Force, Wellsville Police and Alfred Police also assisted.
