WHEATFIELD – The Niagara County Industrial Development Agency disclosed public hearing dates Thursday on proposed tax breaks for a new Niagara Falls hotel and a health club to be installed in a closed Lockport school.

The IDA will hold a hearing at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 3 in Niagara Falls City Hall on a 10-year tax abatement for a 50-room, three-story Sleep Inn to be built on the site of the current Cascade Inn, 7804 Niagara Falls Blvd. The Cascade Inn is to be demolished by the owners, DSAV LLC.

A hearing is set for 3:30 p.m. Sept. 4 in Lockport City Hall on a 10-year tax break sought by Robert Muscarella, owner of Ultimate Physique, who intends to move his business into the former Washington Hunt Elementary School on Rogers Avenue in Lockport. For the first five years, the health club would be exempted from paying any property taxes at all.

The IDA board is to vote on the deals Sept. 10.
