OLEAN – An art exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act will open Thursday in the Beltz Gallery in the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at St. Bonaventure University.

The paintings in the exhibit, “On Nature’s Terms,” were inspired by landscape artist Thomas Paquette’s visits to federal wilderness areas from New Hampshire to California.

Paquette, a Minneapolis native who is based in Warren, Pa., will give a gallery talk in the Quick Center at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 4. An opening reception will follow from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Both are free and open to the public. The exhibit continues through Nov. 22.
