We all must have blinked, because apparently summer is over. We know this because somehow, already, much too soon, it is time for the Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts, which sounds the season’s death knell in just about the most pleasant and reassuring way possible.
This year marks the festival’s 15th appearance in the picturesque Elmwood Village, stretching along Elmwood Avenue from Lafayette to West Ferry between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday.
In addition to the more than 170 artists selling their wares from booths, the famously inclusive event will feature performances from local dance companies, theater troupes, community organizations and bands galore on three stages. Some 30 cultural organizations will also be on hand to give out information on their productions, exhibitions and performances, and the festival’s popular Kidsfest runs all weekend in its dedicated tent between Cleveland and Lancaster avenues.
A full schedule of the weekend’s events is online at eafa.techriver.net, or call 830-2484.
