A report of reckless operation of a vehicle in Springville led to the arrest of a motorist who was under the influence of drugs, according to Erie County sheriff’s deputies.
Deputies responding to the report at about 9 p.m. Friday spotted the vehicle on Route 39 in Sardinia and pulled it over on Hake Road, just over the border into Cattaraugus County. Tammy L. Oyer, 46, of Yorkshire, was intoxicated by drugs, deputies said. Some narcotic pills were found in her possession, they added.
Oyer was charged with driving while intoxicated/drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance and numerous, unspecified traffic violations. Deputies also noted that the registration of Oyer’s vehicle was suspended because of a lapse in insurance.
A blood sample was drawn to determine what substance caused Oyer’s intoxication, deputies said. She was issued tickets to appear in Sardinia Town Court and was released to a third party.
