An Akron man was charged with driving while intoxicated early Saturday after a two-car collision in Clarence, Erie County sheriff’s deputies reported.

Aaron E. Apholz, 23, of Franklin Street, was driving a car that hit another in the rear on Main Street at about 2 a.m., deputies said No injuries were reported.

Apholz, who had a blood-alcohol content of .16, was charged with driving while intoxicated and other, unspecified traffic violations, deputies said. His vehicle was towed from the scene and he subsequently was released to a third party, pending an appearance in Clarence Town Court.
