Arson suspect Christopher Syracuse told the press “I’m sorry for what I did. I was drinking and I wasn’t on my meds,” as he was led into City of Tonawanda Court for arraignment today.
The suspect in a series of arsons, nearly all in North Tonawanda, is accused of starting one fire in the City of Tonawanda. The fire began in a vehicle on Enterprise Avenue in the city early the morning of Aug. 5 and spread to two adjacent homes.
Syracuse, 26, is accused of setting seven fires over two hours, stretching three miles from North Tonawanda’s Meadow Drive to the City of Tonawanda. All the fires began in vehicles and spread to nearby homes.
