Compu-Mail promoted Jim Piesczynski to its management team as technical services manager. Piesczynski is a 14-year veteran of the company. Also, the company named Martin Shimmel national account director. Shimmel’s background in broadcast media sales includes positions at Adelphia Communications, WKBW-TV and, most recently, Time Warner Cable.


Fundraising software developer SofTrek Corp. named Mike Eddy software engineer. Eddy holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Buffalo State. Also, the company named Linda D’Agostino to client services. D’Agostino holds a bachelor’s degree and MBA from Medaille College.


Dr. Bruce R. Troen, University at Buffalo professor and chief of the division of geriatrics and palliative medicine, was named a fellow of the American Geriatrics Society. Troen, an expert in geriatrics and gerontology with a background in molecular biology and biochemistry, specializes in researching the biology of aging, frailty, osteoporosis and vitamin D.

Company Connections

Woodbury Vineyards in Fredonia recently held a grand reopening gala to celebrate its recent improvements. The vineyard expanded and remodeled its tasting room, opened an art gallery and wine lounge, and added winemaker Phil Hazlitt to its staff.
