Italian food, music and culture will fill the lawn near the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, 2655 South Park Ave., from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday as the South Buffalo Italian Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary.

In addition to food from more than half-a-dozen area restaurants, there will be basket auctions, prize drawings, activities for children and games of bocce ball. Admission is free.

Singers Nick Battistella and Dan Petty will perform, along with the Lake Erie Italian Club children’s dancers. Proceeds benefit neighborhood beautification projects.

Buffalo City Comptroller Mark J.F. Schroeder, who conceived the festival 10 years ago and whose grandparents came from Italy, once again is expected to lead the crowd in singing several verses of “Che a Luna” in Italian.
