The Buffalo Scholastic Rowing Association experienced victory for the first time at the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta in St. Catharines, Ont.

The crew of Daniel Jordan (Canisius High School) and James Palmer captured the Under-19 Men’s Pair in 7 minutes, 28.03 seconds, edging runner-up Victoria City, British Columbia, by 5.5 seconds.

The Buffalo Scholastic Rowing Association was founded in 2011 and operates out of a boat house on Ohio Street in the Old First Ward.

Also at the Henley Regatta, West Side Rowing Club’s Men’s LTA Double/Pair boat of Bob Gunn and Andrew McLellen took third in 5:19.530. Ottawa Rowing Club won in 3:41.962. West Side’s Under 17 Men’s 4+ boat took fourth place.
