Warsaw store clerk accused of selling alcohol to a minor in undercover sting

WARSAW – A Warsaw woman arrested by state police Thursday is accused of selling alcoholic beverages to a 19-year-old who was working as an undercover purchaser during a check on Wyoming County businesses selling alcoholic beverages.

Patricia J. Allen, 70, allegedly sold alcoholic beverages to the undercover agent at Stellar Spirits & Wines on South Main Street in the village and was charged with unlawfully dealing with the child and an Alcohol Beverage Control Law violation of prohibited sale to a minor.

Allen was the only clerk charged with the offenses. Clerks at 15 other Wyoming County businesses were checked and found to be in full compliance with state laws, officiasl said.

Allen faces proceedings in the Wyoming Village Court in several weeks.
