Two women jailed and a clarence “spa” shut down

A 49-year-old Kenmore woman and a 61-year-old Flushing, Queens woman were remanded Wednesday to the Erie County Holding Center after a law enforcement raid led to the shut down of the Paradise Spa they were operating in a suite in the 5300 block of Transit Road in Clarence.

Lili Fan, of Kenmore, was charged with a felony count of promoting prostitution in the third-degree, a misdemeanor count of prostitution and unlicensed massage therapy and unauthorized practice of a profession which are both felony offenses under the State Education Law.

Nikki Lou, the Flushing, Queens woman was charged with a misdemeanor count of prostitution and the Education Law felony offense of unlicensed massage therapy.

The raid and search were carried out by the State Police’s Buffalo-based Special Investigations Unit, agents of the federal Homeland Security Department’s investigative unit and the State Attorney General’s Office. Clarence code enforcement officers then closed the spa for alleged town code violations.

Fan and Lou were arraigned in Alden Town Court and remanded to the downtown Buffalo lockup. They both face further proceedings in Clarence Town Court.
