Niagara Falls man charged in stabbing

NIAGARA FALLS – A 55-year-old man was charged for his role in a weekend stabbing in the 1900 block of Niagara Street.

Ralph T. Malone, of Niagara Street, was charged with second-degree assault with a weapon and fourth-degree possession of a weapon after being taken into custody at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday on Pine Avenue.

Police said two men were arguing in the hallway of an apartment building around 2:30 a.m. Saturday and the fight then escalated. Malone allegedly stabbed the victim in the lower right abdomen with what appeared to be a paring knife, and then he fled on foot.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. The extent of his injuries had not been reported.
