LOCKPORT – A woman who was arrested after her probation officer found a stolen handgun in her home pleaded guilty Friday.

Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III will send repeat felon Crystal L. Fain, 32, to state prison for as long as four years when she returns to court Oct. 3.

Fain, who admitted to fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, was arrested May 18 when her probation officer found a .22-caliber pistol in her home at the time on Eighth Street in Niagara Falls. She now lives on 18th Street.

Fain was on probation for a fourth-degree grand larceny conviction in Onondaga County in 2010. Murphy agreed to concurrent sentencing for the gun charge and the probation violation on the larceny case, for which Fain had not paid restitution.
