EJ Manuel, Doug Marrone raving about Chris Hogan's contributions

PITTSFORD -- Exactly halfway through 20 training camp practices at St. John Fisher College, a pair of receivers have starred for the Buffalo Bills.

One you can guess. The other is a bit of a surprise.

Rookie first-round draft pick Sammy Watkins has produced daily highlight-reel plays, but after him, Chris Hogan has been the receiver turning the most heads.

"Chris has done a great job. He’s a guy who I would consider an 'everyday-et,' " quarterback EJ Manuel said. "He comes to work ready to go. He’s very assignment oriented and he’s made some huge catches for us on these third-down conversions."

Hogan played in all 16 games last season for the Bills, making 10 catches for 83 yards.

"I just think having an opportunity and taking advantage of it," Bills coach Doug Marrone said of what has made the difference for Hogan this summer. "I don’t think anyone here would have argued that Chris wasn’t a hard worker. He’s reliable, last year he showed us that and on third down our quarterback had confidence in him to go to him when he was out there in the slot. He’s a big strong player, he’s been playing well, and he’s made some good moves this week."
